IC 3236 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 715 million light years from the Milky Way and about 105,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4320 , IC 3240 , IC 3255 , IC 3275 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
