NGC 4320 is a merging spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 355 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 105,000 ly. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 599 as part of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4325 , IC 3199 , IC 3220 , IC 3240 .
The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on April 15, 1865 .
