NGC 4320 is a merging spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 355 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 105,000 ly. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 599 as part of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4325 , IC 3199 , IC 3220 , IC 3240 .

The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on April 15, 1865 .
