NGC 4330 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble-type Sc in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 67 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter. It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 630 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4299 , NGC 4352 , IC 3239 , IC 3261 .
The object was discovered on April 14, 1852 by the astronomer Bindon Blood Stoney , an assistant to William Parsons , using his 72-inch Leviathan mirror telescope.
