NGC 4332 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Dragons in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 129 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.

Together with NGC 4108 , NGC 4210 , NGC 4221 , NGC 4256 , NGC 4513 and PGC 38461 , it forms the NGC 4256 group .

The Type Ia supernova SN 2009an was observed here.

The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 20, 1790 .
