NGC 4324 is a lens-shaped galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 71 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 613 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4378 , NGC 4287 , NGC 4300 , IC 782 .

The object was discovered on March 4, 1862 by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
