NGC 4333 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble-type SBab in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 311 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 637 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4326 , NGC 4339 , NGC 4376 , IC 782 .

The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 13, 1784 .
