NGC 4323 is a lenticular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 81 million light years from the Milky Way . The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 608 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies Messier 100 , NGC 4312 , NGC 4322 , IC 783 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Tempel in 1882 .
