IC 3220 is an elliptical dwarf galaxy from the Hubble type E in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 89 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 546 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4320 , NGC 4325 , IC 3199 , IC 3240 .

The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
