IC 3208 is an irregular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 4 million light years from the Milky Way and about 2,000 light years across. It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 512 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4313 , IC 3196 , IC 3209 , IC 3224 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
