IC 3209 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is an estimated 333 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter. It is listed as a member of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster under catalog number VCC 527 , but it is too far away for that.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4313 , IC 3192 , IC 3196 , IC 3208 .

The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
