IC 3234 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 910 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years across. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with SDSS J122253.07 + 280641.5 .
The galaxies IC 3212 , IC 3230 , IC 3243 , IC 3263 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 23, 1903 .
