Geographical location

Myslivny is located at an altitude of 1000  m nm on the plateau of the Upper Ore Mountains , about an hour's walk from Boží Dar and is easily accessible on the road to Horní Blatná ( mountain town Platten ). Located 1.5 km northwest of the Gottesgaber Spitzberg on the Schwarzwasser between Gottesgab and Seifen, it is surrounded by high forest and used to be a popular summer resort and winter sports resort. Until the end of the Second World War, Försterhäuser was served by the Gottesgab - Abertham - Schlackenwerth bus line.

history

The place was under the rule of Schwarzenberg until the 16th century . It emerged as a scattered settlement directly on the Rittersgrüner Erzgebirgspass, where it crossed the connecting road from Gottesgab to Platten and a forester's house was built at today's northwestern exit in the middle of dense forest, which was later joined by several houses, which originally housed mostly woodcutters found.

The population of Försterhäuser lived off agriculture, forest work and lace making. After the expulsion of the German-speaking population , numerous houses were demolished. The 2-3 remaining buildings are now used as weekend plots. In 1950, the Myslivny reservoir was built in the immediate vicinity of the village . The restaurant Zur Waldesstille, which existed until 1946, no longer exists. Only their name was given to a restaurant near Breitenbrunn / Erzgeb. transferred, which also no longer exists today.

Some of the forester's houses belonged to the independent municipality of Seifen ( Ryžovna ) or to Gottesgab. Since the municipal reform of 1960, when Ryžovna was also incorporated into Boží Dar, they have belonged to Boží Dar as a whole.

The Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis spent several months in foresters' houses between 1929 and 1932. He lived in Philip Kraus' house, which, like many others, was demolished after the Second World War. On May 10, 1929, he and his second wife Heleni Samiou rented two rooms there for the first time on the recommendation of the Czech journalist and writer Egon Erwin Kisch , in order to be able to work undisturbed on two report books and film scenarios. He left Försterhäuser on April 9, 1930 and returned at the end of July 1931. This time he lived here until May 31, 1932. Kazantzakis' best known novel is " Alexis Sorbas ", which was filmed with Anthony Quinn in the USA. A small memorial, unveiled in 1995, commemorates this prominent holiday guest on the Gottesgab market.
