Nabil Ghilas ( Arabic نبيل غيلاس, DMG Nabīl Ġīlās ; * April 20, 1990 in Marseille ) is a French - Algerian soccer player.

Career

society

Ghilas began his career with the amateur club Burel FC in Marseille . In 2009 he joined the French fourth division club SO Cassis Carnoux .

A year later, at the age of 20, the native French left his hometown and moved to Moreirense FC from the Segunda Liga . The transfer included the immediate loan to FC Vizela in the Campeonato Nacional de Seniores , the third highest league in Portugal . A season later, the striker returned to Moreira de Cónegos , where he was promoted to the Primeira Liga with Moreirense FC . In the 2012/13 season Ghilas was used in all 30 league games, scoring 13 goals. Nevertheless, the immediate relegation followed.

In July 2013, the reigning champions FC Porto announced the commitment of the attacker for a transfer fee of an estimated 3.8 million euros. Ghilas signed a four-year deal that includes an exit clause of 30 million euros. When he played for the first time on matchday five, he was substituted on for Licá in stoppage time. The game at GD Estoril Praia ended 2-2. Ghilas scored his first goal in a 2-1 home win in the cup against the same opponent. He has been under contract with Vitória Setúbal in Portugal since summer 2019 .

National team

Although Ghilas was born in France and also has French citizenship, he plays for Algeria. The offensive player was first appointed to the Algerian national soccer team in March 2013 , but was not used. The striker made his international debut in the World Cup qualifier against Benin .
