Nancy Böhning

Nancy Böhning (born Haupt ; born March 25, 1979 in Elsterwerda ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Political career

From August 2006 to May 2007 she worked in the department for women's and gender equality policy and in the press office of the SPD party executive . She then worked from May 2007 to August 2012 as a consultant in the office of the Bundestag member Elke Ferner .

From September 2012 to December 2013 she was a consultant for women's and gender equality policy at the SPD party executive and head of the spd-fem.net project.

From January 2014 to November 2015 she was the head of the office of the deputy SPD party chairman Manuela Schwesig and from December 2015 to December 2017 she was the office manager of the SPD General Secretary and Federal Minister for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth Katarina Barley .

From December 2017 to April 2018 she was federal manager of the SPD. She was then to become head of the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency . However, the appointment was suspended due to a suit brought by a competitor.

Personal

Nancy Böhning is the daughter of an engineer for mining technology and the gymnastics world champion Annelore Zinke . She began studying German , sociology, and economic and social history at the Technical University of Dresden in 1998 and completed her Magistra Artium in 2005 .

She has been married to Björn Böhning since 2013 , with whom she has a son who was born in 2012.
