The Nassach is a creek almost 6 km long in the Schurwald in the area of the city of Uhingen in the Baden-Württemberg district of Göppingen , which runs south-eastwards below Uhingen itself and before the city limits of Ebersbach an der Fils from the right to the lower Fils flows. It arises from the confluence of its almost equally long two upper courses, Herrenbach and Lochbach, which mostly still run in the Schurwald part of the town of Schorndorf in the adjacent Rems-Murr district .
geography
Left upper course Herrenbach
The left, catchment-rich upper reaches of Herrenbach arises east of the cemetery in the north of the village of Schlichten in the town of Schorndorf in the Rems-Murr district in Neuwiesenwald at around 453 m above sea level. NN . It flows, as well a few blades brooks especially from right ausfnehmend, about two kilometers south-east through the forest. Then, in front of the southern tip of the Rossert mountain forest ridge, close to the so-called Herrenbachbrunnen, from the left and north it takes the creek from the goldsmith's blade, which is about a third shorter here, and then turns to the south. It takes on more, partly feathered Waldklingenbach streams and on its last half kilometer run it finally crosses the forest into the Kohlplatte corridor at the district and city limits of Uhingen in the district of Göppingen . Near the community kindergarten it crosses the Nassachtalstraße L 1152 coming from the other Oberlauftal and flows on the other side at 340.8 m above sea level. NN with the Lochbach to Nassach together.
The Herrenbach is 3.3 km long and has a sub-catchment area of 4.8 km², which mainly includes forest. It empties about 112 meters below its source and has a mean bed gradient of about 34 ‰. A very small part of Schlichten drains to the Herrenbach, otherwise there are no settlements in the sub-catchment area.
Right upper course Lochbach
The right, almost as long upper course Lochbach rises southwest of Schlichten at about 473 m above sea level. NN near the junction of the Nassachbachtal from the Kaiserstraße L 1151 on the edge of the open corridor to the Lochbachwald . At the beginning it runs through it to the south-east and takes in further streams from small blades. The Lochbach already flows almost eastwards at the border to the open land, which is crossed much earlier by this upper course, and which is also the above-mentioned district and town border. In the corridor, he soon reaches the settlement boundary of the Uhingen village of Baiereck , which he traverses mostly underground for the rest of his course under the Nassachtalstrasse. Especially from the wooded right slope of the Geißhalde valley, a dense series of Klingenbach streams runs like a comb, but the left side of the stream is not free of inflow either. After almost half a kilometer, it flows eastwards with the Herrenbach .
The Lochbach is 3.3 km long and has a sub-catchment area of 3.9 km², which mainly includes forest. It empties about 132 meters below its source and has an average bed gradient of about 41 ‰. In addition to the Baiereck, which lies entirely in the Lochbachtal, a small part of Schlichten also drains via it to Nassach. Just over half of the Lochbach sub-catchment area is forested.
course
The Nassach , created by the union of its two upper courses, now runs for the greater part of its course southeast through a Keupertal wooded on the slopes, whose forest-free ground is less than 400 m wide, at the narrowest points hardly more than 100 meters wide. Here, too, many ridge valleys flow from the right and left, the left ones, which run to the southwest, are noticeably larger and longer. First runs on a small Talspinne of Seebach from the right and the long fly stream from left to that arises from two headwaters, both under the top with Unterberken spring ridge connecting; the Säutobel blade joins this on the last few meters . To the left of this smaller blade as well as to the left of the Nassach below are some former sand quarries halfway up the slope.
Then the Nassach runs through the Uhingen district of Nassach , which is mainly on the left bank and the left lower slope; the part of the settlement on the other side of the stream used to belong to the Baiereck two kilometers away as Unterhütt , when this was still an independent municipality. The second large left tributary, Bärentobelbach , flows a little below the closed built -up area and now rises under the Sauhag forest ridge in two equally balanced branches . On the middle course it runs through the Bärentobel nature reserve , it flows into a small forest bar on the valley floor of the Nassach, after which the third valley village Nassachmühle soon follows on its banks.
At the end of Nassachmühle, the Klingentobelbach flows from the left across from the village of Diegelsberg , which lies on the downward spur in front of the Fils valley. Already in Nassachmühle the stream flows southwards, in this direction it leaves the Schurwald into the Filstal, where it crosses the Filstalbahn and then the L 1172 to the right of the river (“Stuttgarter Straße” in Uhingen). Down the Uhingen sewage treatment plant, it flows into the bridge of the road feeder to the B 10 on the other side of the river at about 281 m above sea level. NN from the right into the lower Fils .
The Nassach is 5.9 km long on its name section, on which it loses about 60 meters in altitude. Calculated from the origin of the left upper course of Herrenbach , which is about 172 meters above the estuary, it is 9.2 km long and has an average bed gradient of about 19 ‰.
Catchment area
The Nassach drains an area of 25.4 km², which lies between the Neckar tributaries Rems in the north and Fils immediately in the south and predominantly in the central part of the Schurwald natural area , for example in a south-easterly direction directly to the Fils, whose course is already in Schlierbacher Platte sub-area of the foreland of the central Swabian Alb lies. About three-quarters of the area is forested, the parts of the open land include the valley range from Lochbach and then Nassach itself, parts of the Liash height bands around Unter- and Oberberken in the north-east and around Schlichten in the north-west and around Diegelsberg on the right of the lowest course. In the valley the grassland predominates, on the not too steep altitudes there are almost only fields.
The greatest heights are also located on these edges, especially on the northern watershed along the route of the historic Höhenstraße Kaiserstraße , on which the L 1151 initially runs, later only a farm road, from west to east: a little over 505 m above sea level. NN at the highest point of Schlichten, 503.1 m above sea level. NN on the forest crest of the Brennten , 505.9 m above sea level. NN at the Kaisiche at the forest exit, up to about 508 m above sea level. NN on the top of Oberberken. Behind this divide, the left tributaries of the Rems from the Winterbacher Lehnenbach up to the Schorndorfer Eichenbach drain the adjacent area.
The subsequent section of the catchment area border in the northeast separates from the drainage area of the Marbach tributary Herrenbach to a little north of the Lemberg ( 460 m above sea level ) at Nassachmühle . Behind a smaller piece of the eastern border up to the mouth of the Nassach, less significant right tributaries of the Fils compete.
The southwestern watershed from the mouth of running on a ridge at Diegel Berg about 400 m above sea level. NN rises, at Krapfenreut 474.8 m above sea level. Reached NN and then to heights of around 480 m above sea level. NN remains. The line follows the route of the road K 1412 / K 1209 quite precisely to the triangle near Thomashardt , where it reaches the aforementioned Kaiserstraße . Beyond, mainly Ebersbach , Kirnbach and Reichenbach drain to the lower Fils.
Politically, a good half of the area, namely the northern part, belongs to the town of Schorndorf in the Rems-Murr district , and not much less in the south to the town of Uhingen , including the village of Baiereck (in the Lochbachtal), the hamlets of Nassach (with the former Unterhütt ) and Nassachmühle are the only three places on the run. In the wider catchment area, the hamlet of Diegelsberg is on the right-hand side just a little above the lower valley exit. In the drained area of the town of Schorndorf, in the far north-west of the outskirts of the village of Schlichten in the district of the same name, in the north -northeast of the outskirts of the village of Oberberken and in the north-east of the hamlet of Unterberken , both to the Oberberken district. At the eastern edge there is only a small forest area belonging to the municipality of Wangen, and the town of Ebersbach an der Fils in the south and the municipality of Lichtenwald in the Esslingen district in the west also have a share of very small, uninhabited fringes .

geology
The highest geological layer in the catchment area is the Black Jura , it surrounds it in an almost closed, leveled ring, sometimes with small protrusions into the interior on the ridge between the higher side valleys. The headwaters and large tributaries arise in the border area between this Jura layer and the underlying Keuper , which is present on most of the catchment area and consists of a series of sandstone and marl layers in which the local blades have dug themselves steeply. The exposed sequence of layers ends above the gypsum keuper ( grave field formation ) in the middle keuper .
In the eastern catchment area, loess sediment from Quaternary deposits lies in a few layer islands on hilltops in the interior and as a continuous band on the Black Jurassic plateaus on the edge . In the valley, there are floodplain sediments before Nassach. At Nassachmühle on the Unterlaufschwenk to the south, a disturbance crosses the valley; the sunken plaice lies in the south, here on the right edge of the hill near Diegelsberg Black Jura borders in the south against Keuper in the north.
Protected areas
At the Seitenbach Bärentobelbach lies the 9.8 hectare nature reserve Bärentobel . The vast majority of the catchment area, with the exception of almost only the headwaters of the Lochbach and the narrow valley axis Lochbach-Nassach with the places in and around the valley, is part of the 1,878-hectare Nassachtal-Uhingen water protection area , which extends only slightly over the watershed.
