The Nations Cup (FEI Eventing Nations Cup ™) is a since 2012 by the International Federation Equestre (FEI) discharged Tournament in eventing . The tournament series consists of several nations' prizes, which are held as part of international tournaments.

mode

Valuation tests are tournaments that are advertised as CCIO 4 * -S or CCIO 4 * -L (designation until 2018: CICO 3 * or CCIO 3 *). These are international eventing events in which, in addition to an individual evaluation, a team evaluation is recorded at the same time.

The number of participating teams is not limited. Each team comprises three or four riders from one nation, of which the best three results are used in the team evaluation. At each valuation tournament, valuation points are awarded which result in an overall valuation at the end of the season. With this mode of competition, the Nations Cup is based on the traditional Nations Cup of show jumpers .

Scoring points

The evaluation points at the tournaments of the series are assigned to the teams according to a fixed pattern.

The following system was used for this from 2012 to 2015:

space 1 2 3 4th 5 6th 7th 8th 9
Points 11 9 8th 7th 6th 5 4th 3 2

A new system was introduced for the 2016 season, which largely corresponds to the scoring point system of the Nations Cup series of show jumping riders:

space 1 2 3 4th 5 6th 7th 8th 9 10 11 12 13 14th 15th
Points 100 90 80 70 60 55 50 45 40 35 30th 25th 20th 20th 20th

In the event of a tie at the end of the season, the team that has participated in a higher number of Nations Cup tournaments is in front. If there is still a tie, further criteria are provided to determine the leader.

The number of results that go into the overall ranking per team and season is limited. In the 2016 season, each team can collect points in a maximum of seven out of nine tests.

Special stages and seasons

Even before the Nations Cup was created, there were individual Nations Cup tournaments (CCIO or CICO) in eventing. However, these were mostly only two or three tournaments a year worldwide, but these were not organized as a series. In addition, there were other tournaments that held a Nations Cup, but were not advertised as a Nations Cup tournament (such as the CCI 3 * Boekelo).

The six tests for the first season were selected from the two aforementioned groups and individual tournaments that have not yet carried out a nation ranking. In the meantime, more stations have been added, so that the calendar includes the following station:
