Nattoralik [ ˈnatːɔʁalik ] (according to the old spelling Nagtoralik ) is a desolate Greenlandic settlement in the district of Kangaatsiaq in the municipality of Qeqertalik .

location

Nattoralik is located about two kilometers east-southeast of Ikerasaarsuk on the Ataneq fjord .

history

Nattoralik was first settled after 1865. In the meantime the place was always uninhabited. From 1902 it was settled for the last time continuously. In 1915 Nattoralik had 23 residents who lived in two houses. There were six hunters and, atypically, one woman taught the children. In 1927 Nattoralik was again abandoned and the residents were brought to Ikerasaarsuk. It was a forced relocation that shouldn't have happened. Therefore, in 1928 Grønlands Landsråd discussed how the residents could be compensated. It was decided that Timothy Inûsugtoĸ should receive 50 crowns for his house.
