history
Little is known about Imermiut. The place may have been inhabited in the 18th century without any records being available. At the end of the 1890s the place was probably permanently inhabited, but later only a few families from Attu came here, who only lived in Imermiut for the first half of the year. In 1915 there was a house in Imermiut, which was built as a peat wall house with a roof made of driftwood and branches. It is unknown when Imermiut was no longer used.
