The nature reserve Dolinen im Mahlholz is a nature reserve in the district of Schweinfurt .

The protected area is a mixed deciduous forest with karst phenomena and sinkhole fields in the base gypsum. Both water-filled sinkholes ( Lokven ) and swallow holes ( Ponore ) are represented. The sinkholes are designated as a valuable geotope by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (Geotope number: 678R007).

Alder forest and gray willow bushes with typical vegetation are found in more humid areas .

history

The protection area was placed under protection by the authorities in 1980.
