The nature reserve Naturwaldreservat Wildacker is a nature reserve in the community of Üchtelhausen in the district of Schweinfurt . As a natural forest reserve , any forestry use of the forest is prohibited in this area. The area is listed in Bavaria as "Naturwaldreservat 135".

history

The protected area is one of 160 natural forest reserves in Bavaria and was designated as a nature reserve in 2001.

Geography and geology

The Wildacker natural forest reserve is located north-west of Madenhausen about 1,500 meters north of the Kissingen-Haßfurter saddle , a vault of mussel limestone that extends from northwest to southeast.

Flora and fauna

The forest is predominantly an approx. 130-year-old transitional forest with traces of an earlier use of the middle forest . The dominant tree on fine clay and weathered limestone soils is the common beech with approx. 49%. In addition, 20% oak, 14% hornbeam and 9% linden were recorded. Adjacent tree species are wild berries, norway, sycamore and field maples. In the south-east of the forest area, individual spruce and pine trees mix into the deciduous forest.
