The Hausener Talhang nature reserve is a nature reserve in the Hesselbacher Waldland natural area in the Schweinfurt district .

history

The area was placed under protection in 2002.

Geography and geology

About 146 hectares south of an abandoned limestone quarry are under protection. The area is divided into two separate areas with a wide variety of landscape and vegetation forms, such as semi- arid grassland with bushes and fringed forest sections along the Grundwiesentalbach and along the Wollenbach between Hausen and the former quarry.

The protection purpose is the preservation and development of the semi-arid grassland with its small-scale penetration with hedges, field trees and small deciduous forest stands, as well as the protection of rare and typical land and water species of flora and fauna.

Flora and fauna

On the nutrient-poor semi-arid grassland grows a very diverse plant community with mountain clover , Exceptional milkwort , rock rose , field cow wheat , Carthusian Elke and helmet and purple orchid . The area provides habitat for many birds, such as rear Dunnock , Garden Warbler , Nightingale , backed Shrike , Wryneck and many more.
