Nausis is a district of the city of Spangenberg in the Hessian Schwalm-Eder district and is located on the Lande river in the Landetal.

Geographical location

The district is located in the southeast of Spangenberg and borders the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg . The next places Herlefeld and Landefeld also belong to the city of Spangenberg. Nausis can be reached via the federal highway 487 .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1253 in the property registers of the Haydau monastery .

In 1910 the place had about 193 inhabitants. As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Nausis became a district of Spangenberg on December 31, 1971.

The school that once existed in the village was closed before 1977.

In order to improve the once problematic drinking water situation of the agriculturally dominated place, we worked together with the neighboring places in the Landetal even before the incorporation into Spangenberg. The neighboring towns have jointly set up the “Landetal Cultural Landscape” association to promote economic development. As a result, a network of circular hiking trails has already been established between these districts of Spangenberg. Shops are no longer available.

Nausis was presented in the Hessenschau of the Hessischer Rundfunk as part of the Dolles Dorf competition on September 23, 2006 and May 9, 2007.

The nickname of the Nausisers is "rose hips". Here in Nausis, too, the name probably comes from the good soil quality and the geographic location; these factors made the rose hips grow lush on the Nausis slopes.

The local council consists of five people, all of whom belong to the Nausis community list. Rainer Kehl is the mayor.

In 2017, Nausis took third place in the regional decision of the Schwalm-Eder district in the competition “Our village has a future”.
