The Neckarburg area is a nature reserve in the Baden-Württemberg municipality of Rottweil in the district of the same name.

Characteristics

The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of March 23, 1988 and has a size of 66.2 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 3.162. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 164768 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The nature reserve consists of two parts and is located to the east and west of the railway line between Oberndorf am Neckar and Rottweil around 1,200 meters southwest of the municipality of Dietingen . It borders in several places on the 1,598 hectare landscape protection area No. 3.25.002 Neckar Valley with side valleys from Rottweil to Aistaig , at the same time it is part of the 2,203 hectare FFH area No. 7717-341 Neckar Valley between Rottweil and Sulz . The NSG Neckarburg is located in the natural area 122- Obere Gäue within the natural main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of two surrounding mountains of the Neckar including the opposite slopes in the area of ​​the Neckarburg as a unique geological and landscape historical document, as a habitat for flora and fauna typical of the Upper Neckar Valley with a multitude of rare animal and plant species and as a part of the landscape that is special Beauty, individuality and diversity.
