Nick Sörensen (born October 23, 1994 in Holbæk ) is a Swedish - Danish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Linköpings HC in the Svenska Hockeyligan since May 2017 .

Career

Nick Sörensen comes from the junior division at Malmö IF before moving to Rögle BK in 2009. During the 2010/11 season, Sörensen made his professional debut in the club's men's team at the age of 16. He then moved to Canada, where he played from the 2011/12 season with the Remparts de Québec in the Canadian Junior League Québec Major Junior Hockey League . In his first season for the Remparts, he injured his knee on matchday eight, so that he was out the rest of the season. In the following two years the Swede was able to establish himself as a strong attacker with the Remparts and was then signed by the Anaheim Ducks from the National Hockey League in the summer of 2014 . For the 2014/15 season, Sörensen was initially awarded to Skellefteå AIK in the Svenska Hockeyligan , Sweden's top division. Also in the following season he decided to remain on loan, in Sweden and moved to Linköpings HC .

For the 2016/17 season he finally made the jump into the NHL squad of the Ducks, but after a few games was given to their farm team , the San Diego Gulls . After a year in the North American professional leagues, Sörensen returned to Linköpings HC in May 2017 and signed a two-year contract there.

International

Sörensen represented his home country at the U20 World Cup in 2013 and won the silver medal there with the Swedish U20 team. The following year he repeated the success.
