Nico Petrus Johannes Freriks (born December 22, 1981 in Uden ) is a Dutch volleyball player .

Career

Freriks made his debut for the Dutch national team in 2001 . Three years later he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens and finished ninth with the Netherlands. After playing for the Belgian first division club Noliko Maaseik and VC Omniworld Almere , he was signed in 2005 by the Austrian Bundesliga club Hypo Tirol Innsbruck . With the club, the setter achieved the national double of championship and cup in 2006 . In the same year he won the Europa League with the Netherlands . He then moved back to Belgium to Knack Randstad Roeselare . There he also made the double in 2008. The following season Freriks played at Jastrzębski Węgiel . In the final of the Challenge Cup, the Poles were only defeated in the final against Arkasspor İzmir . In 2010 he won the Dutch Cup with Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande . A year later he was runner-up in Spain with Unicaja Almería . Then he returned to Knack Randstad Roeselare. In January 2012, the club dissolved his contract. In October he was signed by the German Bundesliga club Moerser SC . In 2013 Freriks first moved to Italy to BreBranca Lannutti Cuneo and later to France to Beauvais Oise UC. In 2014 he switched to the Iranian champions Kalleh Mazandaran VC.
