Nijgadh ( Nepali बर्दघाट Nijgadh ) is a city (municipality) in the eastern Terai of Nepal in the Bara district .

The city was created in 2014 by merging the Village Development Committees Bharatganj Singaul , Nijgadh and Ratnapur . Nijgadh is located 35 km northeast of Birganj at the foot of the Siwaliks . The Mahendra Rajmarg Highway runs through Nijgadh. The urban area covers 289.40 km².

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Nijgadh had 35,335 inhabitants (17,026 male) in 7,162 households.
