Nixon Kiprotich (born December 4, 1962 in Baringo ) is a former Kenyan middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter run .

He finished eighth at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul over 800 m. At the African Athletics Championships in Lagos in 1989 , he won the gold medal over the same distance in 1: 45.71 min and the bronze medal in the 1,500 meter run in 3: 41.51 min behind his compatriots Joseph Chesire and Robert Kibet . In 1990 he was second in the 800-meter run at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland, beaten by Sammy Tirop from Kenya by just 0.02 seconds with a time of 1: 46.00 min .

Kiprotich finally celebrated the greatest success of his career at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. In the 800-meter run, he won the silver medal in 1: 43.70 minutes, only just beaten by his compatriot William Tanui .

Nixon Kiprotich is 1.85 m tall and weighed 68 kg when he was active.
