Norbert Klaar (born October 12, 1954 in Wittenberge ) is a former German sports shooter .

Life

Before Norbert Klaar started shooting, he was a track and field athlete. After all, he made it over 400 m to 55 s and in the long jump he reached 5.70 m. He achieved his first successes at the Spartakiad. In 1970 and 1972 he adorned himself here with the first gold medals. His first trainer, Horst Witt, played a part in this.

Klaar was vice European junior champion in 1974 and finished 27th at the European championship in the adult class in 1975. In January 1976 the main sergeant of the German People's Police , who competed for the SC Dynamo Hoppegarten , qualified for the GDR's Olympic selection . In Montreal at the 1976 Olympic Games , he won the gold medal with the rapid-fire pistol with 597 rings ahead of Jürgen Wiefel from Leipzig. Klaar achieved his second big title in 1977 when he won the European championship with the air pistol with the GDR team. In 1979 Klaar won the GDR championship with the rapid-fire pistol and finished ninth at the European championship. In 1981 Klaar won silver with the team at the World Cup.

Klaar was a trained rail vehicle fitter, after studying political science, he was employed in the GDR Ministry of the Interior . After the fall of the Wall , Klaar joined the Adlershofer Füchsen , for which he was able to become German champion in 1996. Norbert Klaar is state trainer in Brandenburg.
