Oleksandr Svjatoslawowytsch Petriw ( Ukrainian Олекса́ндр Святосла́вович Петрів ; born August 5, 1974 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian sports shooter .
successes
Oleksandr Petriw took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in the competition with the rapid-fire pistol over 25 m. With 580 points he qualified for the final round, which he finished with 200.2. With a total of 780.2 points, he set a new Olympic record, at the same time he was Olympic champion ahead of Ralf Schumann and Christian Reitz . At world championships , he won his only individual medal in 2014 in Granada , when he finished second with the large-bore pistol . He also won silver with the large-bore pistol in team competitions in Lahti in 2002 and bronze with the standard pistol in Zagreb in 2006 and Changwon in 2018 . In 2014 he became world champion both in the team competition with the large-bore pistol and with the standard pistol.
