Initially, Müller-Everling worked on sculptures and reliefs that, in the sense of Concrete Art, were based heavily on the formal language of geometry and that were also realized in public space.

Since 1995, wax has been the main focus of his interest. Since then, Müller-Everling's wall pieces are monochrome paraffin plates , which are intensely colored and curved in a concave manner . The wax, as a transparent material, allows the light to shine through more intensely in the thinning central zones of the sculptural works. The light is the central event of the wax work. Not in its illuminating function, but as the quality inherent in the image body. Noticeably present in the thin as well as in the more massive parts, it is enhanced by their polarity. The imaginary continuation of the objects beyond the lateral edges creates an imaginary, cylindrical interior into which the viewer is included. With vivid sensitivity and a reduced formal language, Müller-Everling leads his wax work to a sensitive unity of form, material and light. Andreas Pohlmann wrote: "The reliefs are a convincing attempt to create an artistic synthesis between the three great worlds of the rational, the emotional and the spiritual."

Since 2007, another phase of wax work has followed in Müller-Everling's factory. There are now yellowish stripes or fields in the front and back of uncolored paraffin plates. There is an interplay of clear and diffuse forms in the field of tension between the silence of the white surface. Since 2017, Müller-Everling has also been working with different colored paraffin layers that are poured on top of each other and that produce even color transitions when cut at an angle.
