history

Between 1590 and 1608 the owner of the Arnau lordship , Heinrich von Waldstein , had a renaissance castle built on a hill below the town as the new lordship seat. To distinguish it from the "old" castle Arnau was 1610 Nowy Zamek , 1611 as New Castle , 1638 as Newschloß , 1639 as Newschlosz and 1669 as Neyschloß referred. At the beginning of the 18th century , several houses were built around the castle, both in the Elbe Valley and the Oelsbachtal ( Kalenský potok ). The new settlement after Nieder Oels was parish . In 1834 Neuschloß / Nowa Zamka consisted of 21 houses and had 109 inhabitants. In addition to the castle, there was a yard, two bleachers, a mill, a canvas mangle and a hunter's house. Until the middle of the 19th century, Neuschloß was always subject to the Arnau rulership .

After the abolition of patrimonial Neuschloß / Nové Zámky formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Nieder Oels / Dolní Olešnice in the district administration Hohenelbe / Vrchlabí . At that time, the America settlement was built on the other side of the Elbe on Arnauer Strasse. The place belonged to the German-speaking area. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Neuschloß was annexed to the German Reich together with Nieder Oels in 1938 and belonged to the Hohenelbe district until 1945 . After the Second World War, the place, whose population consisted mostly of Germans, came back to Czechoslovakia. As a result of the expulsion of German residents, the number of residents fell sharply from 1946. After the dissolution of the Okres Vrchlabí Nové Zámky was assigned to the Okres Trutnov at the beginning of 1961. In connection with the incorporation of Dolní Olešnice to Horní Olešnice on January 1, 1989 , Nové Zámky together with Vestřev lost their status as a district. Dolní Olešnice broke away from Horní Olešnice on September 1, 1990 and has since formed its own municipality. Nové Zámky is part of the Vestřev cadastral district.
