Nuria Pomares

Núria Pomares is a Spanish dancer born in Madrid . She received her training in Spanish dance and classical ballet at the Royal Spanish Academy of Drama and Dance in Madrid. She has been internationally recognized artistically since 1991 and has made guest appearances worldwide. Since 1983 she has directed the ballet school she founded.

Artistic career

Nuria Pomares made her international artistic debut in 1991 at the Lincoln Center in New York , further dance appearances followed in the opera La Dueña by Robert Gerhard i Ottenwaelder at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona . In 1992 she took part in the international colloquium La Danza y lo Sagrado , supported by UNESCO . For four years she danced as prima ballerina in the company of Joaquín Cortés in the show Pasión Gitana , which presented the music and dance of the Spanish Roma . This production took Núria Pomares to the Royal Albert Hall , London, to Radio City Music Hall , New York, to Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Tokyo and to the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. In 1999 she was invited to the Gala de Estrellas at the Festival de Otoño in Madrid.

In 2000 she danced in the ballet El amor brujo by Manuel de Falla , became a solo dancer in the Ballet Nacional de España and appeared in the opera Goyescas by Enrique Granados . She had great success with the lyric drama La vida breve by M. de Falla, in which she has appeared under the direction of Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos since 2002, with the New York Philharmonic , the Boston Symphony Orchestra , the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchester , among others de Paris , the Dresden Philharmonic , the orchestra of Radiotelevisione Italiana , Turin and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra . In 2003 she danced again in the Opera in Two Acts of Goyesca and in the Zarzuela La rosa del azafrán by E. Granados in Madrid. It was joined by Manuel de Falla's ballet Der Dreispitz , with which she performed in Cologne under the direction of Josep Caballé Domenech . In 2009 she was invited by Plácido Domingo to Washington for concerts and performances entitled From my Latin Soul .

In 2010 she performed with La Vida Breve in Copenhagen and Malmö. She was invited by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra to the celebrations of the 75th concert season and danced under Zubin Mehta to the music from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet . In 2011 she worked again with Plácido Domingo and the New York Philharmonic, she also made guest appearances in Puerto Rico and the Sultanate of Oman , and took part in the performances staged by the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Fundación Federico García Lorca with the title ¡Viva Lorca! and performed La Vida breve with R. Frühbeck de Burgos in the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater .
