The Nussdorfer Steg provides a connection for pedestrians and cyclists between the 19th and 20th districts of Vienna and, together with the nearby Steinitzsteg, also to the Danube Island, without having to climb the stairs to the bridges in the Nussdorf junction . Construction work began in May 1999 and was completed at the end of the same year, at a cost of around one million euros. The Nussdorfer Steg was built as a tubular steel framework and has a span of 48 meters and a width of 3.5 meters. The weight of the bridge is approximately 80 tons.
