history

Exit Spittelauer Brücke to the B227

The Spittelauer Brücke pedestrian and cycle path (object number 0905 3), the U6 Danube Canal Bridge and the Spittelau bridge B 227 (object number 0905 1) largely use the same structure, but the MA 29 names them as three different bridges. In the course of the construction of the U6 bridge between 1992 and 1995, the exit ramp that connected the Gürtel bridge to the Brigittenauer Lände (B 227) on the way to the north bridge had to be removed, as in this area the massive tunnel portal was again underground guided underground line was built. The Spittelau bridge B 227 was built as a new connection piece in 1992. After crossing under the connecting arch, the new exit branches off from the Gürtelbrücke and crosses the Danube Canal as an independent bridge between the Gürtelbrücke and the U6 Danube Canal Bridge.

The plans for this structure come from the engineering office Alfred Pauser . The construction work was organized by the Association Negrelli / Hofmann & Maculan / Strabag / Ilbau / Philipp Holzmann / Concrete and Monierbau performed.
