Oberberg is a place in the East Tyrolean Drautal , and belongs to the municipality Iselsberg-Stronach in the district of Lienz , Tyrol .

geography

The scattered houses are located above the Lienz valley floor , still above the towns of Iselsberg and Obergöriach , at around 1300  m above sea level. A. , on the south ridge of the Strasskopf  ( 2401  m above sea level , Schobergruppe ). To the west it drops into the Debanttal , to the east it goes to the Iselsbergpass , which leads into the Carinthian Mölltal .

The scattering location includes the localities around Gasthof Schöne Aussicht and Plautz , around Reiter and around Gasthof Moserhof below. The former can be reached from Großglockner Straße  (B 107) on the ascent to Iselsbergpass, the others from Iselberg.

Iselsberg-Stronach is one of the Hohe Tauern national park communities .

tourism

The place is on the Kärntner Grenzwanderweg  (KGW), which leads here on the one hand to the Iselsberg pass and to Penzelberg, and on the other hand via Pließ / Geiersbichl to the Strasskopf and into the national park area of ​​the Lienz Dolomites. Numerous paths lead up from the valley, and there is also a path down into the Debant valley.
