The Großglockner Straße (B 107) leads over the top of the pass , it connects the Lienzer Talboden in East Tyrol's Drautal with the Carinthian Mölltal . To reach the mines of the Mölltal there was already a way over the Iselsberg in Roman times .
The two mountains on the side of the pass are the Stronachkogel ( 1831 m above sea level ) of the Kreuzeck group in the south, and the Strasskopf ( 2401 m above sea level ) of the Schober group in the north.
About one kilometer southwest of the apex is the town of Iselsberg , now part of the Iselsberg-Stronach community.
The Scattered Houses Pass Iselsberg (or Iselsberg ) are located directly on the Tyrolean pass . They include the settlements between Hotel Wacht ( 1190 m above sea level ) and the top of the pass.
