Location of Obergünzl in Bavaria

Obergünzl is one of the 100 districts of the Upper Bavarian community Unterneukirchen in the Altötting district . Along with Oberschroffen, Unterneukirchen and Gasteig, Obergünzl is one of the largest districts in the municipality.

location

Obergünzl is surrounded by fields in the southern part of the municipality. Until at least 1990, before the building of the "Sedlmaierfeldes" it was completely the village separated; today, however, it is directly adjacent to the community center.

Origin of name

Obergünzl is named after a farm of the same name, which was formerly located at the southwest end of today's settlement . The name of this farm is probably derived from the first name Gün (t) zel.

history

The district of Obergünzl emerged on the corridors of the Obergünzlhof, which existed until the 1960s. This was first mentioned in 1300 under the name "Güntzleinslehen". The history of this farm can be traced back to the 16th century. Until 1826, the majority of the owners with the surname "Günzl" or "Obergünzl" were called. This is due to the fact that up to around 1780 at Unterneukirchen farms there was hardly any distinction between house names and family names. Anyone who married into the property, whether man or woman, would in future be called after the house name . The landlord of the court was the elector in 1752 , Neukirchen was the chairman until 1808 (see also Unterneukirchen -History-Up to the foundation of the community), political community from 1808 Unterneukirchen, Catholic church membership also Unterneukirchen. The first real estate sale took place in 1825, when the "Kaiserzipfland" with a 1¾ day work plus a dwelling was sold to Jakob Ofenreiter. Few properties were sold before the Second World War . From 1950, due to the increased demand for living space after the Second World War, a large number of home parcels were identified and offered for sale , although development was carried out without a binding development plan until the 1990s . A dense settlement area developed on the grounds of the Obergünzlhof that is still growing.

Streets

Obergünzl is framed by two streets to the west and east ( Garchinger Strasse, Pinsmaierstrasse). Obergünzlstrasse runs parallel to Garchinger Strasse in the west. Streets between Obergünzlstrasse and Pinsmaierstrasse are named after well-known German and Austrian writers , musicians and comedians of the 19th and 20th centuries. The following is a list of all streets in the district:

economy

In Obergünzl there is one of the oldest wheat beer breweries in the district with the highest building in the community.
