Oberseidewitz is a district without district status in the municipality of Bahretal in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains and, like Zwirtzschkau , is part of the Niederseidewitz district, which is sometimes also referred to as Seidewitz .

geography

Oberseidewitz is located southeast of the Saxon state capital Dresden in the north of the municipality of Bahretal, which in turn is in the center of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district. The large two estates and a few cottagers estate existing hamlet lies on the northern slope of the eastern Ore Mountains in the Elbe Valley Shale area . The location is at the upper end of a steep, orographically right side valley of the Seidewitz , about 240 to 270 meters above sea level.

Neighboring places are Niederseidewitz one kilometer northeast and the Bahretal districts of Nentmannsdorf in the southwest and Friedrichswalde in the southeast. On the other side of the Seidewitztal, the closest places are the Müglitztal district Burkhardswalde in the west and the Dohna district Meusegast in the northwest.

The main road on Oberseidewitzer Flur is the federal motorway 17 from Dresden to Prague . It leads north of the village over the Seidewitztal Bridge , with 154 m arch span the largest reinforced concrete arch bridge in Saxony. The next connection point is located two kilometers south in Friedrichswalde (No. 7 Bahretal ). The district road 8760 leads from the Pirna district of Beimendorf via Zwirtzschkau and Nieder- and Oberseidewitz on to Nentmannsdorf. The reconstructed half-mile column No. 10 in Electoral Saxony stands on it south of Oberseidewitz . Oberseidewitz is connected to the regional bus network of Saxon Switzerland and Eastern Ore Mountains (RVSOE) .

The block corridor around Oberseidewitz, which forms the southwest of the Niederseidewitz district, extends in the east to the Bienengründel, a left side valley of the bier . It mainly serves agricultural purposes. The large dairy cattle facility of the agricultural cooperative Niederseidewitz is characteristic of the townscape . In contrast to the rest of Oberseidewitz, it is east of the motorway and the district road. In the hard stone works on Nentmannsdorfer Flur, an extensive quarry in the Seidewitztal around 300 meters southwest of Oberseidewitz, the Saxon Building Materials Union (SBU) Dresden mines amphibolite .
