Obervogteiamt Beuron

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Obervogteiamt Beuron was an administrative district in the south of today's state of Baden-Württemberg . The Hohenzollern Obervogteiamt belonged to the Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen from its foundation in 1806 to 1830 . In 1830 the Upper Bailiwick Office of Beuron was abolished and its places were assigned to the Upper Office for Forest . The area initially consisted only of the territory of the former Augustinian monastery of Beuron with the villages of Bärenthal and Beuron . In 1823 Thalheim was added, which had previously belonged to the Sigmaringen Oberamt . Today Beuron forms the core of the municipality of the same name. Bärenthal is also independent, while the former Hohenzollern exclave Thalheim, which was surrounded by Baden territory, was assigned to the Leibertingen community in 1975 .
