Oleg Olegowitsch Orechowski ( Russian Олег Олегович Ореховский ; born November 3, 1977 in Norilsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current coach .
Career
Oleg Orechowski began his career as a hockey player at HK Dynamo Moscow , for whose professional team he made his debut in the International Hockey League in the 1994/95 season . In his rookie year he prepared a goal in 30 games and immediately won the CIS championship title with his team . In the following season he was successful with Dynamo in the IHL Cup. From 1996 to 2003 the defender competed with Dynamo Moscow in the Russian Super League and won the Russian championship title for the first time with his team in the 1999/2000 season . For the 2003/04 season , the former national player moved within the Super League to HK Awangard Omsk , with whom he also became champions at the end of the season. Shortly after the start of the 2004/05 season , he left Awangard and returned to HK Dynamo Moscow, with whom he was again Russian champions. Following the 2007/08 season , he ended his active career at the age of 30.
In the 2010/11 season Orechowski was the assistant coach of HK Scheriff from the multinational youth league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga . For the 2012/13 season he was also hired as an assistant coach by Vitjas Chekhov from the Continental Hockey League . In January 2014 he was promoted to head coach at Vityas and remained so until November 2015, when he was fired after eight defeats in a row.
At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Orechowski was the assistant coach of Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk before he was fired in October 2016. In September 2017 he found a new employer in HK Sochi , where he was employed in the same position as before. In 2018/19 he was assistant coach at his home club, HK Dynamo Moscow. Since May 2019 he has been employed as an assistant trainer at HK Sibir Novosibirsk.
International
For Russia , Orechowski took part in the junior division in the U18 European Junior Championships in 1994 and 1995 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 1997 . At the U18 European Championship in 1994 he and his team won the silver medal, and at the U20 World Cup in 1997, the bronze medal.
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2001 World Cup .
