The place originated in the 13th century at the latest and was first mentioned in a document in 1302.

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Additions to the Description of Silesia as Oleschka , belonged to a Count of Gashin and was in the Groß Strehlitz district of the Principality of Opole . At that time he had 55 inhabitants, a Vorwerk , ten farmers, eight gardeners and some cottagers . In 1865, Oleschka consisted of a manorial farm and a village. The village had 19 gardeners and seven cottagers. The school was in Zyrowa.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 81 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 102 for membership in Poland. After the division of Upper Silesia, Oleschka remained with the German Empire . In 1936 the place was renamed Nieder Erlen as part of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .

In 1945 the until then German place came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Oleszka . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Krapkowicki .
