Oliver Breite , born as Oliver Bäßler , (born May 28, 1963 in East Berlin ) is a German theater and film actor .
Life
After attending the Polytechnic High School , Breite began an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in 1979 , which he finished in 1981. He then worked as a postman and tram driver in Berlin before doing his military service from 1982 to 1985.
Already during his apprenticeship as a small actor at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin , Breite completed his acting training from 1985 to 1989 at the Berlin Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch" .
In the summer of 1989 he was engaged at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin , where he was involved in, among other things, Christoph Schroth's production of Wilhelm Tell . At the beginning of the 1993 season, Schroth brought him to the Cottbus State Theater . There he opened the season as Othello in the play of the same name directed by Christoph Schroth.
In 1997 Oliver Breite received the Max Grünebaum Prize . In 1999 he played Jochen in Andreas Dresen's film Nachtgestalten .
In 2001, after guest appearances in Bonn and Magdeburg, he moved to the Deutsches Theater Berlin. In 2004 and 2005 he worked with Jens-Daniel Herzog at the Mannheim National Theater . In 2010 he played at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden under the direction of Konstanze Lauterbach in the play Michael Kohlhaas by Heinrich von Kleist .
From 2012 he played the role of Esau Matt at the Cottbus State Theater in the production of Der Laden (based on Erwin Strittmatter's novel trilogy of the same name) under the direction of Mario Holetzeck .
Oliver Breite has been married to actress Corinna Breite since 2006 , has two sons with her and lives in the Radewege district of the Beetzsee municipality .
