Oliver Bernhardt (born July 29, 1976 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German ice hockey player who last played for the Rote Teufel Bad Nauheim in the major league .
Career
Oliver Bernhardt began his ice hockey career when he was 9 years old at EC Bad Nauheim . In 1996 Greg Poss discovered him at EV Füssen and together they switched to ETC Timmendorfer Strand . In the same year he was nominated for the German national team that took part in the U20 World Cup . In total, he completed around 50 junior internationals.
In 1997 they both signed on to the Iserlohner EC , for which he played for eight years apart from one year when he played for the Augsburger Panther . He saw the chance to get into the DEL in 2000 and therefore signed with the Panthers. After a year he returned to the Iserlohn Roosters, who had also been promoted to the DEL. Before the 2003/04 season, the coaching team and the team offered him the captaincy, but he declined because he still wanted to help the team behind the scenes. But Bernhardt not only played an important role in Iserlohn in terms of sport, as he could be used both as a defender and as a striker .
After seven seasons at the Seilersee, the contract was no longer extended and he moved to the second division club SC Bietigheim-Bissingen in 2005 . After only one season he signed a contract with Eisbären Regensburg , which he terminated shortly before the end of the season for private reasons. At both clubs, he should above all ensure stability in the defense. In the 2007/2008 season, the native of Frankfurt was in the squad for the upper division club EC Bad Nauheim and was captain there.
