Oliver Möllenstädt

Oliver Möllenstädt (born March 29, 1978 in Braunschweig ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 2009 to 2011 he was state chairman of the FDP Bremen and from September to December 2010 parliamentary group chairman of the FDP in the Bremen citizenship . Möllenstädt has been managing director of the German Association of Plastics Processing Industry (GKV) since August 2011.

education and profession

Möllenstädt studied industrial engineering at the University of Bremen from 1998 to 2003 and received his doctorate in 2007 . From 2003 to 2007 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL). Möllenstädt has been working for the Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie eV based in Berlin since May 2011 and has been its general manager since August 2011.

politics

From 1994 to 1997 Möllenstädt was a member of the CDU . He joined the FDP in 1999. Since 2003 he has been a member of the state executive committee of the FDP Bremen. From 2003 to 2007 he was also a member of the federal board of the FDP youth organization Junge Liberale and from 2004 to 2007 deputy federal chairman. From 2005 to 2006 he was also the state chairman of the Junge Liberalen Bremen. In 2005 and 2009 Möllenstädt ran as an FDP candidate for the German Bundestag in the Bremen II − Bremerhaven constituency. In 2009 he became regional chairman of the FDP in Bremen. Since 2009 he has also been a member of the FDP federal executive committee . In November 2010, the delegates of the FDP Bremen nominated him as the top candidate for the upcoming state election. After the general election on May 22, 2011, he and the state board of the FDP Bremen resigned. Möllenstädt did not run again as state chairman in the new election of the state board in June 2011, but still belonged to the FDP federal board.

In the state election in Bremen in 2007 , he ran for the FDP on position 4. He belonged to the 17th Bremen citizenship . There he was represented in the Hospitals Committee and in the Deputation for Economy and Ports.

From September 2010 he was the successor to the resigned Uwe Woltemath chairman of the FDP parliamentary group, which, however, lost its parliamentary group status after Woltemath left the party in December 2010 with only four members of the parliament. The four liberal MPs elected Möllenstädt as chairman of the FDP in the citizenry.

In October 2009 Möllenstädt caused a sensation with the demand to use sanctions more frequently against the long-term unemployed.

As a delegate for the Federal Assembly for the election of the Federal President in 2010, Möllenstädt declared that he would support the candidate Joachim Gauck , who was nominated by the SPD .
