Werner Ehrich (born May 11, 1901 in Bad Oldesloe ; † September 12, 1975 in Bremen ) was a German economist and politician ( German Democratic Party (DDP), BDV , FDP ).

Ehrich attended the humanistic grammar school in Bremerhaven . From 1919/20 he studied first at the Technical University of Hanover and then political science and economics at the University of Göttingen . In 1923 he received his doctorate. rer. pole. From 1924 to 1931 he worked for his party (see below). From 1932 to 1933 he was head of the Achim branch of the Bremen State Labor Office. He was released by the Nazis and worked as a freelancer until 1936. From 1937 to 1945 he was an employee of the shipyard AG Weser in Bremen.

After the Second World War , he worked in industry from 1946 and then at the State Statistical Office in Bremen. 1951/52 he was chief executive of the BDV / FDP in Bremen. In 1952 worked for six months as the head of the Bremen - Blumenthal local office . Until 1956 he was the syndic of the municipal political working group Bremen-Nord . From 1956 to 1964 he worked in the Federal Compensation Office in Bremen and from 1964 to 1967 head of the Defense Burden Office in Bremen.

Ehrich had been a member of the liberal DDP since the 1920s and from 1924 to 1931 General Secretary of the DDP in the area of ​​constituency 14 - Weser-Ems . In 1940 Ehrich joined the NSDAP . In 1948 he was denazified as unaffected .

After the war he was a member of the liberal BDV and then the FDP in Bremen and in 1951/52 its managing director and parliamentary group leader. From 1952 to 1956 and then again from 1958 to 1965 he took on the function of deputy state chairman of the FDP.

From 1955 to 1967 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship for around 12 years and was active in various deputations of the citizenship. In 1959 he was deputy parliamentary group leader and from December 19, 1963 to 1967 parliamentary group chairman in the citizenry; he succeeded Georg Borttscheller (FDP) in this office.
