The weightlifting of women in the class up to 48 kg (bantam weight ) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place on July 28, 2012 at the ExCeL Exhibition Center . 14 athletes from 12 countries competed.

The competition consisted of two parts: tearing (Snatch) and pushing (Clean and Jerk) . The participants competed first in the snatch, in which they had three attempts. Whoever remained without a valid attempt was eliminated. Each starter again had three attempts in pushing. The athlete with the highest aggregate weight won. In the event of a tie, lower body weight was decisive.
