The weightlifting of women in the class up to 63 kg (middleweight) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place on July 31, 2012 at the ExCeL Exhibition Center . 10 athletes from 10 countries competed.

The competition consisted of two parts: tearing (Snatch) and pushing (Clean and Jerk) . The participants first had three attempts in snatch. Whoever remained without a valid attempt was eliminated. Each starter again had three attempts in pushing. The athlete with the highest aggregate weight won. In the event of a tie, lower body weight was decisive.

In August 2016, the first-placed Kazakh girl Maija Manesa was convicted of doping fraud with stanozolol , whereupon the IOC stripped her of the gold medal. Further withdrawals followed on January 12, 2017 from the originally second-placed Turkish Sibel Şimşek and on April 5, 2017 from the Russian Swetlana Zarukajewa, who had meanwhile moved up to first place .
