The weightlifting of the men in the class up to 105 kg (heavyweight) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place on August 6, 2012 at the ExCeL Exhibition Center . 17 athletes from 14 countries competed.

The competition consisted of two parts: tearing (Snatch) and pushing (Clean and Jerk) . The participants started in two groups in the snatch, in which they had three attempts. Whoever remained without a valid attempt was eliminated. Each starter again had three attempts in pushing. The athlete with the highest aggregate weight won. In the event of a tie, lower body weight was decisive.

  • The reigning world and European champion Chadschimurat Akkajew from Russia had to cancel due to a back injury. His compatriot Dmitri Klokow also canceled for medical reasons.
  • The Pole Marcin Dołęga , former world record holder in the snatch, retired after three failed attempts in the snatch.
  • The winning weight in the duel in this competition would not have been enough for a medal in the last three Olympic competitions.
  • The gold medal for Navab Nasirshelal was the first medal by an Iranian in this weight class.
