At the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo , two golf competitions will be held, one each for women and men using stroke play . 60 athletes each take part in the tournament for women and men. The venue will be the Kasumigaseki Country Club .

qualification

The qualification takes place via the golf world ranking list . For men, the deadline is June 22, 2020 and for women, June 29, 2020. 60 players per gender qualify. The top 15 per gender qualify. A maximum of four golfers per nation can qualify in this way. The remaining quota places will be given to the best placed athletes whose nation has not yet provided two golfers; each nation may place a maximum of two athletes in this way. The International Golf Federation has also awarded Japan a starting place as the host nation. Furthermore, every continent (Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania) receives a quota place.
