Iceland participated in the 1952 Winter Olympics in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, with eleven male athletes in three sports; never before and after that have more participants started for the northern European country.

After 1948 it was Iceland's second participation in the Winter Olympics .

Flag bearer

Gísli Benóný Kristjánsson , who did not start in any discipline, carried the flag of Iceland during the opening ceremony in the Bislett Stadium .
